Lafayette vs. Lexington Catholic (Girls)

Lafayette coach Allison Denton started the following lineup: 5-11 So. Kiara Pankins, 5-9 Jr. Aisha Conwell, 6-4 Sr. Ashante Thomas, 5-3 So. Lataya Winn, and 6-0 Sr. Dee Givens.  Lexington Catholic coach Scott True countered with 5-8 Sr. Rachel Blake, 5-7 Jr. Sarah Bonn, 5-9 Sr. Caroline Lynch, 5-5 Sr. Bailey Browning, and 5-7 Jr. Caroline Osbourn.

Lafayette took control of the game in the second quarter as they outscored the Lady Knights 17-7 on their way to a 56-35 victory.  Lafayette shot 46.7% from the field including six of 11 from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 15 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 38.7% from the field including three of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Knights connected on eight of nine free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored six points off eight Lafayette turnovers.

Dee Givens led Lafayette with 27 points including four three point baskets.  Kiara Pankins added 14 points and five steals.

Caroline Lynch led Lexington Catholic with 12 points including six of seven free throws.  Caroline Osbourn added 10 points including two three point baskets.
