Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Sarah Bridenbaugh started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Nicole Armstrong, 5-10 So. Autumn Herriford, 6-0 Sr. Merissa Marrow, 5-4 Fr. Mashayla Cecil, and 5-4 Jr. Ezzy Ighodaro. Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 6-0 Sr. Dee Givens, 5-8 So. Kendyl Powell, 6-4 Sr. Ashanti Thomas, 5-3 So. Lataya Winn, and 5-11 So. Kiara Pankins.
Lafayette raced out to an 18-2 first quarter lead on their way to a 62-33 victory over Paul Laurence Dunbar. Lafayette shot 48.1% from the field including six of 10 from the three point line. The Lady Generals connected on six of nine free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 18 Paul Laurence Dunbar turnovers. Paul Laurence Dunbar shot 28% from the field including four of 18 from beyond the arc. The Lady Bulldogs connected on one of two free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored six points off 13 Lafayette turnovers.
Dee Givens led Lafayette with 21 points including three three point baskets and six rebounds. Kiara Pankins added 18 points and nine rebounds. Ashanti Thomas recorded 13 points, seven rebounds, and four blocked shots. Lataya Winn chipped in with six points and five assists.
Nicole Armstrong led Dunbar with 12 points and five rebounds. Merissa Marrow added nine points, seven rebounds, and three steals. Ezzy Ighodaro chipped in with eight points.
