Lafayette coach Allison Denton started the following lineup; 6-0 Sr. Dee Givens, 5-9 Jr. Aisha Conwell, 5-8 So. Kendyl Powell, 5-3 So. Lataya Winn, and 5-11 So. Kiara Pankins. Woodford County coach Jay Lucas countered with 5-9 Sr. Chelsey Ford, 5-9 Jr. Caitlin Ferguson, 5-10 So. Maggie Hudson, 5-5 Sr. Anastayzia Reed, and 5-8 Sr. Emily Brooke Corum.
Lafayette raced out to a 35-10 halftime lead on their way to a 65-47 victory over Woodford County. Woodford County shot a dismal 16% from the field in the first half but buoyed by eight of 13 from beyond the arc in the second half actually outscored the Lady Generals 37-30 after the intermission. Lafayette shot 48.3% from the field including four of 10 from the three point line. The Lady Generals connected on five of 10 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 35 points off 24 Woodford County turnovers. Woodford County shot 32.7% from the field including 10 of 24 from beyond the arc. The Lady Yellow Jackets connected on three of five free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 18 Lafayette turnovers.
6-4 Sr. Ashante Thomas led Lafayette with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocked shots. 5-9 Fr. Caroline Bennett added 16 points including four three point baskets. Bennett was six of eight from the field including four of five from beyond the arc. Dee Givens recorded 15 points, five rebounds, eight assists, and seven steals. Kiara Pankins chipped in with 10 points, eight rebounds, and four steals.
Chelsey Ford led Woodford County with 18 points including five three point baskets, seven rebounds, three blocked shots, and three steals. Caitlin Ferguson added 16 points including four three point baskets, four rebounds, six assists, and three steals.
