Monroe County Steve Fitzgerald started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Skyler Geralds, 6-0 Sr. Gibril Summers, 6-3 Sr. Dillon Geralds, 5-10 Jr. John Austin Geralds, and 5-11 Jr. Lincoln Arnett.  Newport Central Catholic coach Ron Dawn countered with 6-6 Jr. Ben Weyer, 6-2 Jr. Erik Anderson, 6-7 Sr. Drew McDonald, 5-11 Sr. Zach Pangallo, and 6-3 Sr. Grant Moeves.

Newport Central Catholic dominated today in a 78-36 victory over Monroe County.  Newport Central Catholic shot a sizzling 63% from the field including nine of 21 from the three point line.  The Thoroughbreds connected on 11 of 13 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 12 points off eight Monroe County turnovers.  Monroe County shot 27.1% from the field including two of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Falcons connected on eight of 14 free throws, pulled down 17 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 11 Newport Central Catholic turnovers.

Ben Weyer led Newport Central Catholic with 26 points and seven rebounds.  Weyer was nine of 12 from the field including two of three from beyond the arc, and six of seven free throws.  Drew McDonald added 19 points and nine rebounds.  McDonald was eight of nine from the field including two of three from beyond the arc, and hit his only free throw.  Zach Pangallo recorded 12 points and 12 assists.

Skyler Geralds led Monroe County with 13 points.  Dillon Geralds added 12 points and five rebounds.
