Lexington Christian Academy coach Nate Valentine started the following lineup: 6-7 Sr. Matt Rose, 6-4 Sr. Benton Nighbert, 6-8 Sr. Drew Trimble, 6-0 Sr. John Stein, and 6-5 8th Grade Kyle Rode. George Rogers Clark coach Scott Humphrey countered with 6-1 Sr. Braxton Greene, 5-10 Sr. Damion King, 6-3 So. Jerryd Jones, 5-9 Sr. Malachi Israel, and 5-9 Jr. Jyles Anderson.
George Rogers Clark defeated Lexington Christian Academy by a score of 79-65. The score was tied three times and there were six lead changes in the game. GRC shot 62.2% from the field including seven of 12 from the three point line. The Cardinals connected on 16 of 22 from the free throw line, pulled down 16 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 15 LCA turnovers. LCA shot 55.9% from the field including six of 13 from beyond the arc. The Eagles connected on 21 of 29 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 11 points off seven GRC turnovers.
Damion King led GRC with 28 points including three three point baskets and four assists. Jerryd Jones added 13 points and five rebounds. Jones was six of six from the field and one of one from the free throw line. Malachi Israel chipped in with 12 points including two three point baskets. Jyles Anderson added 11 points.
Drew Trimble led LCA with 21 points. Matt Rose added 20 points including four three point baskets and eight rebounds. Kyle Rode recorded 14 points, four rebounds, and three assists.
