Mercy Academy coach Keith Baisch started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Mackenzie Stovall, 5-7 Sr. Hannah Bewley, 6-0 Sr. Malerie Martin, 5-3 Jr. Jessica Laemmle, and 5-4 Jr. Madi Woods. Newport Central Catholic coach George Stoll countered with 5-7 So. Meg Martin, 5-5 Sr. Loren Zimmerman, 5-5 So. Olivia Schalk, 5-2 Jr. Ansley Davenport, and 5-3 Sr. Michaela Ware.
Mercy Academy defeated Newport Central Catholic by a score of 65-39. Mercy Academy shot 41.6% from the field including nine of 18 from the three point line. The Jaguars connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 21 NCC turnovers. NCC shot 28% from the field including five of 23 from beyond the arc. They connected on six of seven free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored six points off 13 Mercy turnovers.
Jessica Laemmle led Mercy with 22 points including five three point baskets, four rebounds, and three steals. Malerie Martin added 12 points. Hannah Bewley chipped in with seven points and four rebounds.
Ansley Davenport led NCC with 18 points and eight rebounds. 5-5 Sr. Sarah Neace added six points on two three point baskets. Michaela Ware recorded four points, five rebounds, and four steals.
