Spencer County raced out to a 34-7 halftime lead and held on down the stretch to earn a 47-42 victory. Spencer County utilized their powerful ground game (59 carries for 452 yards and six touchdowns) to earn the victory. Spencer County recorded 20 first downs and 515 yards of total offense. They were penalized nine times for 83 yards and lost a fumble. Franklin County recorded 16 first downs and 341 yards of total offense. The Flyers were penalized five times for 48 yards and lost three fumbles.
Branden Leff led Spencer County’s ground game with 233 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries. Logan Holbrook carried the ball 21 times for 199 yards and three touchdowns. Jacob DeRudder completed three of nine passes for 63 yards and a touchdown. Logan Holbrook caught two passes for 27 yards. Kadin Smith caught a 36 yard touchdown pass. Logan Holbrook led the defense with six solo tackles. Brandon Summitt, Branden Leff, and Austin Ashley each recorded four solo tackles. Brandon Meyer added three solo tackles and recovered two fumbles.
Denzell Vance led Franklin County’s ground game with 62 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. Barrett Sanderson carried the ball six times for 26 yards and a touchdown. Barrett Sanderson completed 23 of 36 passes for 257 yards and four touchdowns. DeMarcus Kennedy caught eight passes for 65 yards. Landon Hurst added six receptions for 89 yards and two touchdowns. Cody Lofton caught three passes for 85 yards and a touchdown. Denzell Vance added two receptions for 13 yards and a touchdown. Zach Spradlin led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles. Makale Marks added six solo tackles. Jimmy Lewis recorded five solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling nine yards and recovered a fumble. Jhanny Rodriguez also recorded five solo and one assisted tackles.
