Eastern Kentucky Ohio coach Chrissy Roberts started the following lineup: 5-11 Fr. Abby Wright, 5-10 Sr. Shameekia Murray, 6-1 Jr. Jalen O’Bannon, 5-5 Jr. Mariah Massengill, and 5-10 Jr. Michaela Hunter. Miami Ohio coach Cleve Wright countered with 6-0 So. Molly McDonagh, 6-1 So. Ana Richter, 6-2 Fr. Kristen Levering, 5-6 Fr. Leah Purvis, and 5-10 So. Baleigh Reed.
Eastern Kentucky trailed by 10 points in the final quarter but rallied to earn a 77-72 victory in overtime. Miami was plagued by poor free throw shooting down the stretch (eight of 14) which allowed Eastern Kentucky to get back in the game. Eastern Kentucky shot 35.1% from the field including seven of 22 from the three point line. The Colonels connected on 18 of 25 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and committed 16 turnovers. Miami (Ohio) shot 42.1% from the field including six of 19 from beyond the arc. The Red Hawks connected on 18 of 26 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and committed 21 turnovers.
Shameekia Murray led Eastern Kentucky with 25 points and nine rebounds. Michaela Hunter added 22 points including three three point baskets and seven rebounds. Jalen O’Bannon recorded 12 points and 12 rebounds. 6-1 Sr. Miranda Maples chipped in with nine points.
Leah Purvis led Miami (Ohio) with 23 points including three three point baskets. Baleigh Reed added 16 points. Molly McDonagh recorded 10 points and 10 rebounds. Ana Richter pulled down 10 rebounds.
