Lafayette coach Allison Denton started the following lineup: 5-9 So. Teriya Garr-Carter, 5-9 So. Caroline Bennett, 5-10 Jr. Kiara Pankins, 5-2 So. Terri Abram, and 5-7 Fr. Lindi DeBilzan. Clay County coach James Burchell countered with 5-10 Sr. Kelli Roberts, 5-9 8th Grade Kaylee Mathis, 5-9 Fr. Summer Parker, 5-5 Fr. Kimberlyn Mills, and 5-6 Fr. Shelby Phillips.
Lafayette outscored Clay County 23-9 in the second quarter on their way to a 56-51 victory. Lafayette shot 39.5% from the field including seven of 22 from the three point line. The Lady Generals connected on 19 of 29 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored nine points off 12 Lafayette turnovers. Clay County shot 43.9% from the field including six of 17 from beyond the arc. The lady Tigers connected on nine of 16 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 12 Lafayette turnovers.
Kiara Pankins led Lafayette with 32 points including three three point baskets and 13 of 16 free throws, pulled down 15 rebounds, and recorded two steals. Caroline Bennett added 16 points including four three point baskets and eight rebounds.
Kaylee Mathis led Clay County with 18 points including two three point baskets and six assists. Shelby Phillips added 14 points including four three point baskets and five rebounds. Kelli Roberts chipped in with 10 points.
