Lexington Christian Academy coach Nate Valentine started the following lineup: 6-4 So. Austin Hall, 6-3 Jr. Christian McBeath, 6-6 Jr. Tre King, 6-2 Sr. Trevor Hill, and 6-5 Fr. Kyle Rode. Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Scott Chalk countered with 6-4 Sr. Darius Williams, 6-3 Sr. Justin Kelley, 6-6 Jr. Dontell Brown, 6-0 Sr. Jordan Lewis, and 6-3 Jr. Taveion Hollingsworth.
Dunbar outscored Lexington Christian Academy 18-7 in the third quarter to pull away for a 72-57 victory. There were four lead changes and five ties in this game. Dunbar shot 48.9% from the field including four of eight from the three point line. The Bulldogs connected on 22 of 35 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 18 LCA turnovers. LCA shot 50% from the field including four of 10 from beyond the arc. The Eagles connected on 13 of 19 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored six points off 11 Dunbar turnovers.
Taveion Hollingsworth led Dunbar with 30 points including 11 of 16 free throws and pulled down six rebounds. Jordan Lewis added 14 points and four rebounds. Darius Williams chipped in with 10 points.
Kyle Rode led LCA with 23 points and eight rebounds. Tre King added 15 points and seven rebounds. Trevor Hill recorded 14 points including two three point baskets. Christian McBeath, Trevor Hill, and Kyle Rode all fouled out for LCA.
