Mercy Academy coach Keith Baisch started the following lineup: 5-9 Fr. Raquael Reese, 5-9 Jr. Josie Woods, 6-2 So. Danielle Feldkamp, 5-3 Sr. Jessica Laemmle, and 5-7 Sr. Madi Woods.  Butler coach Larry Just countered with 5-9 Sr. Allison Just, 5-9 Jr. Jaelynn Penn, 5-10 Sr. Micaiah Bowden, 5-4 Jr. Breia Torrens, and 5-8 Jr. Tasia Jeffries.

 

Mercy Academy outscored Butler 29-19 in the final quarter to earn a 73-71 victory.  Butler’s Jaelynn Penn then connected on a three point basket but the shot was ruled to come after the buzzer.  Mercy shot 43.4% from the field including nine of 19 from the three point line.  The Jaguars connected on 24 of 30 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored seven points off 10 Butler turnovers.  Butler shot 44.6% from the field including five of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Bearettes connected on 16 of 21 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 12 mercy turnovers.

 

Danielle Feldkamp led Mercy with 15 points including 11 of 12 free throws and seven rebounds.  Jessica Laemmle added 14 points including two three point baskets.  Madi Woods also scored 14 points including six of six free throws.  Josie Woods chipped in with nine points including three three point baskets and five rebounds. 

 

Jaelynn Penn led Butler with 21 points, six rebounds, and three steals.  5-8 Jr. Janna Lewis added 13 points.  Micaiah Bowden recorded 11 points, five rebounds, and five assists.
