Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Nick Runyon started the following lineup: 5-11 Jr. Autumn Herriford, 5-9 So. Peyton Humphreys, 5-11 Sr. Nyla Blair, 5-5 So. Mashayla Cecil, and 5-7 So. Anaiyah Cotton.  Lexington Catholic coach Scott True countered with 5-9 Sr. Sarah Bonn, 5-6 So. Maya Jazdzewski, 5-7 Sr. Caroline Osbourn, 5-2 So. Ashley Frebis, and 5-6 Fr. Jay Ballard.

 

Sarah Bonn hit a three point basket from the right wing with 2.4 seconds remaining in the game to give Lexington Catholic a 48-45 victory over Paul Laurence Dunbar.  There were eight lead changes and eight ties in this game.  Lexington Catholic shot 41.2% from the field including six of 12 from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on 14 of 19 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 12 Dunbar turnovers.  Dunbar shot 43.2% from the field including six of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 11 points off nine Lexington Catholic turnovers.

 

Sarah Bonn led Lexington Catholic with 20 points including three three point baskets and four rebounds.  Caroline Osbourn added nine points and Jay Ballard chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets. 

 

Mashayla Cecil led Dunbar with 20 points including three three point baskets.  Autumn Herriford added 12 points including two three point baskets.  Anaiyah Cotton recorded eight points and six rebounds.
