3rd Annual Kentucky-Indiana Challenge Cup

Jay County coach Chris Krieg started the following lineup: 6-1 Jr. Jay Houck, 6-1 Sr. Bowen Runyon, 6-4 Sr. Adam Dirksen, 5-10 So. Cole Stiglem, and 6-1 Sr. Kyler Carvel.  Cooper coach Tim Sullivan countered with 6-2 Sr. Marcus Watson, 6-2 Jr. Dante Hendrix, 6-3 Jr. Sean McNeil, 5-9 So. Chris McNeil, and 5-10 So. Adam Kunkel.

 

Cooper took an early lead and held on to defeat Jay County by a score of 45-37.  Cooper shot 28.9% from the field including two of 12 from the three point line.  The Jaguars connected on 21 of 26 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 19 Jay County turnovers.  Jay County shot 41.9% from the field including one of seven from beyond the arc.  The Jaguars connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 11 points off eight Cooper turnovers.

 

Sean McNeil led Cooper with 14 points including six of six free throws and six rebounds.  Adam Kunkel added 12 points including seven of eight free throws.  Chris McNeil and Dante Hendrix recorded seven points each.

 

Adam Dirksen led Jay County with 16 points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Jay Houck added 10 points and nine rebounds.
