Mason County defeated Simon Kenton 66-64 in a double overtime classic.  Simon Kenton’s Allyson Niece scored in the lane to send the game to overtime.  Niece worked her magic again in overtime to score again to send the game to the second overtime.  The third time was not charmed as Niece missed a shot in the lane in the closing seconds. Briana McNutt and Jordan Frodge hit key three point baskets in the second overtime to give Mason County the victory.

 

Mason County shot 41% from the field including seven of 18 from the three point line.  The Lady Royals connected on 11 of 17 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and committed 13 turnovers.  Simon Kenton shot 42% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Pioneers connected on 16 of 20 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and committed 17 turnovers.

 

5-8 Jr. Whitney O’Mara led Mason County with 15 points and six rebounds.  5-9 Jr. Maddie Boone added 13 points.  5-8 Jr. Briana McNutt recorded 12 points and eight rebounds.  5-10 So. Kara Moran and 5-6 Jr. Jordan Frodge chipped in with nine and eight points respectively.

 

5-8 So. Allyson Niece led Simon Kenton with 28 points and eight rebounds.  5-9 So. Shelby Harmeyer added 11 points.
