Scott County coach Steve Helton started the following lineup: 6-0 Jr. Lauren Boehm, 5-10 So. Peyton Riddle, 6-0 So. Sydney Southerland, 5-5 Fr. Juliette Smith, and 5-9 Sr. Bailey Hawkins. Tates Creek coach Jan Perkins countered with 5-7 Sr. Shaytara Wilson, 5-5 Fr. Shania Taylor, 5-8 Sr. Lauren Miller, 5-3 Jr. Nave Winn, and 5-3 Jr. LaTaya Winn.
Scott County raced out to a 33-7 first quarter lead on their way to a 76-36 victory over Tates Creek. Scott County shot 50% from the field including eight of 16 from the three point line. The Lady Cardinals connected on six of 10 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 19 Tates Creek turnovers. Tates Creek shot 21.7% from the field including two of 11 from beyond the arc. The Lady Commodores connected on 14 of 20 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored four points off 13 Scott County turnovers.
5-5 8th Grade Morgan DeFoor led Scott County with 12 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Sydney Southerland also scored 12 points on six of six field goals. 5-8 Sr. Alexis Lockard added 11 points including three three point baskets. Lauren Boehm recorded eight points and seven rebounds. Juliette Smith chipped in with seven points and five assists.
Shania Taylor led Tates Creek with 12 points. Shaytara Wilson added seven points and eight rebounds. 5-4 Jr. Safiyah Abdus-Salam also scored seven points.
