Lafayette coach Allison Denton started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Kiara Pankins, 5-9 So. Caroline Bennett, 5-9 Sr. Aisha Conwell, 5-6 So. Terri Abram, and 5-8 8th Grade Shelbi Wilson.  Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Nick Runyon countered with 5-11 Jr. Autumn Herriford, 5-9 So. Peyton Humphreys, 5-11 Sr. Nyla Blair, 5-5 So. Mashayla Cecil, and 5-7 So. Anaiyah Cotton.

 

The score was tied 28-28 at halftime but Lafayette outscored Dunbar 23-11 in the third quarter on their way to a 69-55 victory.  There were two lead changes and seven ties in this game.  Lafayette shot 38.9% from the field including four of 10 from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on 23 of 28 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 11 Dunbar turnovers.  Dunbar shot 36.4% from the field including two of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on 13 of 17 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored four points off 14 Lafayette turnovers.

 

Kiara Pankins led Lafayette with 31 points including 10 of 12 free throws, 13 rebounds, and four assists.  Caroline Bennett added 15 points including three three point baskets, seven rebounds, and three steals. 

 

Mashayla Cecil led Dunbar with 22 points including eight of eight free throws, five rebounds, and two steals.  Anaiyah Cotton added 12 points.  Autumn Herriford recorded eight points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Peyton Humphreys chipped in with eight points, six rebounds, and three assists.
