Covington Holy Cross coach Ryan Schrand started the following lineup: 5-11 Sr. Erich Jakobowski, 5-11 Sr. Hamilton Scott, 6-1 Jr. Derrick Barnes, 5-10 Sr. Leighton Schrand, and 5-10 Jr. Will Volpenhein. Lexington Christian Academy coach Nate Valentine countered with 6-5 So. Carter Hendrickson, 6-4 So. Austin Hall, 6-6 Jr. Tre King, 6-2 Sr. Trevor Hill, and 6-5 Fr. Kyle Rode.
Lexington Christian Academy utilized an overwhelming 20-2 advantage in second chance points to earn a 68-60 victory over Covington Holy Cross. Lexington Christian Academy shot 46.4% from the field including four of 19 from the three point line. The Eagles connected on 12 of 24 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 14 Covington Holy Cross turnovers. Holy Cross shot 46.5% from the field including nine of 27 from beyond the arc. The Indians connected on 11 of 18 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 10 LCA turnovers.
Tre King led LCA with 20 points and 16 rebounds. Kyle Rode added 20 points, 11 rebounds, and four steals. Carter Hendrickson recorded 13 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.
Leighton Schrand led Covington Holy Cross with 15 points and six assists. Erich Jakobowski added 14 points including four three point baskets, five rebounds, and four assists. 6-1 Sr. Alex Hacker chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets. Derrick Barnes recorded eight points and eight rebounds.
