Franklin County trailed 15-4 after the first quarter but rallied to defeat Elizabethtown by a score of 56-52. Franklin County outscored Elizabethtown 17-7 in the second quarter to pull within one; 22-21 at halftime. Franklin County took a 41-36 lead after three quarters. Elizabethtown rallied and actually took a 52-51 lead on a basket by Erin Boley with 1:30 left on the clock. Malaka Frank scored in the lane seconds later to give Franklin County a 53-2 lead and Rebecca Cook and Princess Stewart hit key free throws down the stretch to ensure the victory.
Franklin County shot 42.9% from the field including three of 10 from the three point line. The Lady Flyers connected on 11 of 18 free throws and pulled down 31 rebounds. Elizabethtown shot 38% from the field including six of 16 from beyond the arc. The Lady Panthers connected on eight of nine free throws and pulled down 35 rebounds.
5-8 Jr. Princess Stewart led Franklin County with 16 points and seven rebounds. 5-10 Jr. Rachel Cook also scored 16 points and scored eight points to spark Franklin County’s comeback in the second quarter. 5-9 Sr. Malaka Frank added 14 points and seven rebounds.
6-2 Sr. Erin Boley led Elizabethtown with 31 points and 18 rebounds. 5-7 Sr. Rachel Warden added eight points and 5-8 Jr. Jada Stinson chipped in with seven points.
