East Jessamine coach Jacqueline Coleman started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Abagail James, 5-9 Sr. Savannah Poore, 5-10 So. Jalynn Landversicht, 5-9 Fr. Haley Harrison, and 5-9 Sr. Emma Young. Lexington Catholic coach Scott True countered with 5-9 Jr. Laken Pinkerman, 5-7 Fr. Jay Ballard, 5-9 Sr. Sarah Bonn, 5-5 Sr. Sophia Tannir, and 5-7 Sr. Caroline Osbourn.
East Jessamine outscored Lexington Catholic 22-15 in the final quarter to defeat Lexington Catholic by a score of 53-47. The score was tied six times and there were 14 lead changes in the game. East Jessamine started out the game on an 11-0 run but Lexington Catholic fought back and actually led 32-31 after three quarters setting the stage for East Jessamine’s come-from-behind victory.
East Jessamine shot 47.2% from the field including six of 11 from the three point line. The Jaguars connected on 13 of 14 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 17 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 40% from the field including seven of 14 from beyond the arc. The Lady Knights connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 18 East Jessamine turnovers.
Emma Young led East Jessamine with 32 points including four three point baskets and 10 of 10 free throws. Young pulled down seven rebounds, dished out two assists, blocked two shots, and recorded five steals. Young was nine of 15 from the field including four of eight from beyond the arc. Haley Harrison added nine points and five rebounds.
Caroline Osbourn led Lexington Catholic with 17 points including three three point baskets, six rebounds, three assists, and four steals. 5-3 So. Ashley Frebis added 13 points, four rebounds, and three steals.
