Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale started the following lineup: 6-7 Sr. Jarelle Reischel, 6-5 Jr. Javontae Hawkins, 6-9 Fr. Nick Mayo, 6-1 So. Paul Jackson, and 6-2 Jr. Isaac McGlone.  Eastern Illinois University coach Jay Spoonhour countered with 6-4 Jr. AJ Riley, 6-2 Fr. Casey Teson, 6-5 Sr. Trae Anderson, 5-7 So. Cornell Johnston, and 6-2 Jr. Demetrius McReynolds.

Eastern Illinois University defeated Eastern Kentucky University 97-85 in a game in which both teams shot above 55% from the field and both teams connected on 11 three point baskets.  The score was tied six times and there were three lead changes in the game.  Eastern Illinois shot 58.6% from the field including 11 of 22 from the three point line.  The Panthers connected on 18 of 26 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 13 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 55.2% from the field including 11 of 28 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored seven points off nine Eastern Illinois turnovers.

Demetrius McReynolds led Eastern Illinois with 27 points including five three point baskets and 10 rebounds.  Cornell Johnston added 13 points and 10 assists.  AJ Riley also scored 13 points.  Casey Teson chipped in with 12 points.  6-11 Sr. Luke Piotrowski recorded 11 points.  Trae Anderson added nine points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

Nick Mayo led Eastern Kentucky with 23 points and four rebounds.  Paul Jackson added 14 points including four three point baskets and seven assists.  6-4 Jr. Jaylen Babb-Harrison chipped in with 13 points including three point baskets and five rebounds.  Jarelle Reischel recorded 10 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.
