Tennessee Tech coach Steve Payne started the following lineup: 6-9 Sr. Ryan Martin, 6-3 Jr. Shirmane Thomas, 6-9 Sr. Anthony Morse, 6-1 Sr. Torrance Rowe, and 6-3 So. Aleksa Jugovic.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale countered with 6-7 Sr. Jarelle Reischel, 6-5 Jr. Javontae Hawkins, 6-9 Fr. Nick Mayo, 6-1 So. Paul Jackson, and 6-2 Jr. Isaac McGlone.

Tennessee Tech defeated Eastern Kentucky University by a score of 89-83.  The score was tied four times and there were three lead changes in the game.  Tennessee Tech led by 12 midway through the second half but Eastern Kentucky rallied to narrow the margin. Eastern Kentucky University shot 45.8% from the field including six of 23 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 23 of 32 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 11 Tennessee Tech turnovers.  Tennessee Tech shot 46% from the field including eight of 22 from beyond the arc.  They connected on 23 of 31 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 16 points off eight Eastern Kentucky University turnovers.

Torrance Rowe led Tennessee Tech with 24 points including four three point baskets and five assists.  Aleksa Jugovic added 24 points including two three point baskets and four assists.  Ryan Martin recorded 15 points and nine rebounds.  6-1 Jr. Hakeem Rogers chipped in with 12 points and five rebounds.  Anthony Morse pulled down 10 rebounds

Jarelle Reischel led Eastern Kentucky with 25 points, nine rebounds, and five assists.  Javontae Hawkins added 22 points including 11 of 14 free throws and five rebounds.  Nick Mayo recorded 20 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Mayo was seven of nine from the fields including one of one from beyond the arc, and five of five from the free throw line.
