Eastern Kentucky University only trailed by two; 50-48 with 13 minutes left in the game but Auburn pulled away to earn an 85-54 over the Colonels. Auburn shot 45.8% from the field including six of 18 from the three point line. The tigers connected on 25 of 42 free throws, pulled down 51 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 14 EKU turnovers. Auburn held a decided 26-6 advantage in second chance points. Eastern Kentucky University shot 32.8% from the field including eight of 33 from beyond the arc. The Colonels connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored six points off 15 Auburn turnovers.
Mustapha Heron led Auburn with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and two steals. Heron was eight of eight from the field including one of one from beyond the arc, and seven of 13 free throws. Danjel Purifoy added 16 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals. 6-0 GS Ronnie Jackson chipped in with 13 points and four assists.
Nick Mayo led Eastern Kentucky University with 20 points and four rebounds. Jaylen Babb-Harrison added 14 points and 6-0 Jr. Dillon Avare recorded 11 points including three three point baskets. 6-6 Fr. DeAndre Dishman chipped in with eight points and four rebounds.
