Tates Creek coach Jan Perkins started the following lineup: 5-4 Sr. Safiyah Abdus-Salam, 5-4 Sr. Carolyn Nsimpasi, 5-5 Jr. Tamira Watts, 5-3 Sr. Nave Winn, and 5-3 Sr. LaTaya Winn.  Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 5-9 Jr. Caroline Bennett, 5-9 So. Lindi DeBilzan, 5-10 Sr. Kiara Pankins, 5-4 Jr. Terri Abram, and 5-8 Fr. Shelbi Wilson.

 

Lafayette raced out to a 23-11 first quarter lead on their way to a 73-51 victory over Tates Creek.  Lafayette shot 45.5% from the field including three of 21 from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on 10 of 17 free throws, pulled down 50 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 27 Tates Creek turnovers.  Tates Creek shot 27.1% from the field including five of 27 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Commodores connected on 14 of 18 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 27 Lafayette turnovers.

 

Kiara Pankins led Lafayette with 31 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists.  Pankins was 13 of 17 from the field including one of two from beyond the arc, and four of six free throws.  Shelbi Wilson added 14 points and four rebounds.  Caroline Bennett recorded 10 points and seven rebounds.  Terri Abram chipped in with eight points, seven rebounds, and three assists.  Lindi DeBilzan added four points, seven rebounds, and five assists.

 

Nave Winn led Tates Creek with 15 points including three three point baskets and four steals.  LaTaya Winn also scored 15 points, pulled down six rebounds, and recorded four steals.  Safiyah Abdus-Salam chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds.  6-1 Jr. Curtshonna Cannon pulled down seven rebounds.
