Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts started the following lineup: 6-0 Fr. Tae’Lour Richardson, 6-0 Sr. Amadi Brooks, 6-1 Sr. Jalen O’Bannon, 5-5 Sr. Mariah Massengill, and 5-8 Sr. Alexus Cooper. Saint Louis coach Lisa Stone countered with 6-2 Jr. Jenny Vliet, 5-10 Sr. Olivia Jakubicek, 6-3 Sr. Sadie Stipanovich, 5-7 Jr. Jackie Klemph, and 6-0 So. Jordyn Frantz.
Saint Louis raced out to a 27-9 first quarter lead on their way to a 78-51 victory over Eastern Kentucky University. Saint Louis used their inside strength to hold a 49-25 rebound advantage and held a 34-18 advantage in points in the paint. Saint Louis shot 57.4% from the field including nine of 18 from the three point line. They connected on 15 of 22 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored eight points off 10 Eastern Kentucky turnovers. Eastern Kentucky shot 28.6% from the field including seven of 23 from beyond the arc. The Colonels connected on four of seven free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 21 Saint Louis turnovers.
Jackie Klemph led Saint Louis with 18 points including nine of 10 free throws and six assists. Sadie Stipanovich added 12 points and six rebounds. Olivia Jakubicek recorded 11 points and 10 rebounds. Jenny Vliet chipped in with eight points and six rebounds. 6-4 Jr. Maddison Gits pulled down eight rebounds.
5-11 So. Abby Wright led Eastern Kentucky University with 12 points and six rebounds. Alexus Cooper added 11 points including three three point baskets and three steals. 5-9 Sr. Katie Pippen recorded nine points on three three point baskets.
