Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale started the following lineup: 6-7 Jr. Zach Charles, 6-6 Fr. Marlon Adams, 6-9 So. Nick Mayo, 5-11 Fr. Asante Gist, and 6-2 Sr. Isaac McGlone.  Jacksonville University coach Tony Jasick countered with 6-6 Sr. Omar El Manasterly, 6-7 Sr. JR Holder, 6-8 Jr. Cody Helgeland, 5-8 Sr. Darien Fernandez, and 6-4 Jr. Devin Harris.

Jacksonville University led by 11 in the first half but Eastern Kentucky rallied for an 80-76 victory.  There were nine ties and 11 lead changes in the game.  Eastern Kentucky shot 55.1% from the field including five of 13 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 21 of 27 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 12 points off nine Jacksonville turnovers.  Jacksonville shot 50% from the field including nine of 22 from beyond the arc.  They connected on 15 of 24 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 12 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

Asante Gist led Eastern Kentucky with 24 points including two three point baskets and three assists.  Isaac McGlone added 20 points including two three point baskets and three steals.  Nick Mayo recorded 13 points and five rebounds.  Zach Charles added 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Darien Fernandez led Jacksonville University with 19 points including two three point baskets, nine of ten free throws, four rebounds, and six assists.  Devin Harris added 16 points, five rebounds, and five assists.  Cody Helgeland recorded 12 points including two three point baskets.  6-7 Sr. Darius Dawkins added nine points on three three point baskets.
