Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale started the following lineup: 6-6 Jr. Zach Charles, 6-6 Fr. Marlon Adams. 6-9 So. Nick Mayo, 5-11 Fr. Asante Gist, and 6-2 Sr. Isaac McGlone.  Norfolk State coach Robert Jones countered with 6-7 Jr. Stavian Allen, 6-4 Jr. Kyle Williams, 7-0 Jr. Dan Robinson, 5-11 Jr. Zaynah Robinson, and 6-4 Sr. Jonathan Wade.

Norfolk State defeated Western Kentucky University 87-80 in overtime.  The score was tied 11 times and there were 14 lead changes in the game.  Norfolk State shot 41.5% from the field including eight of 17 from the three point line.  They connected on 35 of 45 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 14 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 46.6% from the field including 10 of 24 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 16 of 25 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored eight points off 11 Norfolk State turnovers.  Isaac McGlone, Nick Mayo, and Zach Charles all fouled out for Eastern Kentucky who was whistled for 30 personal fouls.

Jonathan Wade led Norfolk State with 25 points including 11 of 16 free throws and nine rebounds.  Kyle Williams added 23 points including five three point baskets.  6-6 Jr. Jordan Butler recorded 11 points including nine of 10 free throws and six rebounds.  6-2 Sr. Carrington Ward added 10 points, five rebounds, and three assists.  Dan Robinson chipped in with nine points, four rebounds, and four blocked shots.

Asante Gist led Eastern Kentucky with 23 points including seven of 10 free throws, four rebounds, and six assists.  Isaac McGlone added 21 points including five three point baskets, six rebounds, and three steals.  Nick Mayo recorded 13 points, four rebounds, and two blocked shots.  6-5 Fr. DeAndre Dishman chipped in with 12 points and six rebounds.  Dillon Avare added nine points on three three point baskets.  Zach Charles pulled down seven rebounds.
