Corbin coach Jason McDaniel started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Tori Baker, 5-9 Jr. Madison Hicks, 6-0 Jr. Cora Stevens, 5-6 Sr. Kameryn Ashurst, and 5-8 Sr. SaraBeth Price. Wayne County coach Tim Pyles countered with 5-9 Sr. Ashton Bell, 5-8 Jr. Hannah Jackson, 5-10 Sr. Megan Burchett, 5-7 8th Grader Macey Blevins, and 5-7 Sr. Taylor Bell.
Wayne County trailed 22-17 at halftime but rallied in the second half to defeat Corbin by a score of 55-47. Wayne County shot 34% from the field including four of 17 from the three point line. The Lady Cardinals connected on 19 of 23 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and committed 14 turnovers. Corbin shot 27% from the field including seven of 21 from beyond the arc. The Lady Redhounds connected on 16 of 21 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and committed 12 turnovers.
Ashton Bell led Wayne County with 15 points including seven of nine free throws and five steals. Megan Burchett added nine points and nine rebounds. Taylor Bell recorded nine points and eight rebounds. Macey Blevins chipped in with nine points including seven of eight free throws. Hannah Jackson added eight points including two three point baskets and six rebounds.
Kameryn Ashurst led Corbin with 21 points including four three point baskets and five of six free throws. Tori Baker added seven points including five of six free throws and 10 rebounds.
