Scott County vs. Oldham County (Boys)

Scott County coach Billy Hicks started the following lineup: 6-7 Jr. Michael Moreno, 6-2 Jr. Cooper Robb, 6-5 Sr. Cooper Watts, 6-1 So. Glenn Covington, and 6-1 So. Bryce Long.  Oldham County coach Coy Zerhusen countered with 6-2 Jr. Zach Larimore, 6-0 Sr. Ismail Jones, 6-4 Jr. Travis Henderson, 5-9 Jr. Jackson Gibson, and 5-10 Sr. Ryan Heelan.

 

Scott County led Oldham County 26-24 at halftime and pulled away in the second half to earn a 62-45 victory.  The score was tied three times and there were eight lead changes in the game.  Scott County shot 48% from the field including three of 11 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 11 of 14 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 21 Oldham County turnovers.  Oldham County shot 28.1% from the field including five of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 24 Scott County turnovers.

 

Michael Moreno led Scott County with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Cooper Robb added 11 points, eight rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Glenn Covington also scored 11 points and four assists.  Bryce Long chipped in with 10 points and four assists.

 

Sr. Caleb Strunk led Oldham County with 10 points and four rebounds.  Ismail Jones and Jackson Gibson added nine and eight points respectively.
