Tennessee State University coach Larry Joe Inman started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. I’Mani Davis, 6-0 Sr. Jayda Johnson, 6-4 So. Tiana Parker, 5-6 Fr. Kaliya Griffin, and 5-7 Sr. Diamond Beatty. Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts countered with 6-1 Sr. Jalen O’Bannon, 5-11 Sr. Shavontae Naylor, 6-3 Jr. Madison Wood, 5-3 Jr. Marcella Rocha, and 5-8 Sr. Alexus Cooper.
Eastern Kentucky held on down the stretch to defeat Tennessee State by a score of 66-62. Eastern Kentucky trailed by 10 points in the first quarter and led by 10 points with 3:57 left in the game. The score was tied six times and there were five lead changes in the contest. Eastern Kentucky scored their last field goal with 6:10 left in the game but was 11 of 14 from the free throw line in the final quarter.

Alexus Cooper led Eastern Kentucky with 21 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, three assists, and three blocked shots. 5-5 Sr. Mariah Massengill added 16 points including two three point baskets. Jalen O’Bannon recorded 15 points, 16 rebounds, four assists, and two blocked shots. Shavontae Naylor chipped in with six points, nine rebounds, and four assists. 5-11 So. Abby Wright added six points and seven rebounds.
Jayda Johnson led Tennessee State with 22 points and six rebounds. Tiana Parker added eight points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots. Diamond Beatty and 5-11 Jr. Tia Wooten also scored eight points each. I’Mani Davis recorded seven points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots.
