Perry County Central coach Shannon Hoskins started the following lineup: 6-9 Sr. Idris Akinyeni, 6-4 Sr. Damon Tobler, 6-9 Sr. Prince Anosike, 6-2 So.Noah Back, and 6-2 Sr. Austin Hill.  Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-5 Jr. Zan Payne, 6-3 Jr. TC Price, 6-7 Sr. Peter Whitman, 6-3 Sr. Blake Scott, and 6-3 Sr. Luke Johnson.

 

Lexington Catholic defeated Perry County Central 72-66 in a double overtime thriller.  Lexington Catholic led 29-14 late in the second quarter but Perry County Central rallied to make it a game in the second half.  There were six lead changes and five ties in the game.  Lexington Catholic shot 37.1% from the field including one of 12 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on 25 of 35 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 23 Perry County Central turnovers.  Perry County Central shot 37.1% from the field including seven of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Commodores connected on 13 of 17 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 11 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

 

Luke Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 30 points, six rebounds, and four assists.  Zan Payne added 29 points and 14 rebounds.  Payne was 10 of 16 from the field and nine of 11 from the free throw line. 

 

Damon Tobler led Perry County Central with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.  Noah Back added 20 points including six three point baskets.  Idris Akinyeni recorded 10 points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Prince Anosike added six points, 15 rebounds, and eight blocked shots.
