Sayre coach Rob Goodman started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Jake Duby, 5-11 Sr. Kaden Silverburg, 6-2 Jr. RJ Smith, 5-11 Sr. Robbie Goodman, and 5-9 Jr. Jayden Blanton. Bryan Station coach Tommy Johnson countered with 6-3 Sr. David Demarcus, 6-1 Sr. Deangelo Boone, 6-7 Sr. Braeden Warren, 5-10 Jr. Eric “Boss” Boone, and 6-1 Jr. Terrance Clayton-Murphy.
Sayre pulled away in the final quarter to defeat Bryan Station by a score of 60-44. The score was tied six times and there were seven lead changes in this game. Sayre shot 52.3% from the field including three of nine from the three point line. The Spartans connected on 11 of 14 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 12 Bryan Station turnovers. Bryan Station shot 35.3% from the field including three of 14 from beyond the arc. The Defenders connected on five of nine free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored six points off 10 Sayre turnovers.
RJ Smith led a balanced Sayre scoring attack with 13 points and nine rebounds. Jayden Blanton added 12 points and nine assists. Jake Duby recorded 11 points, three rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots, and three steals. Robbie Goodman chipped in with 10 points. 6-6 Jr. Marcus Bowie added seven points and five rebounds. Kaden Silverburg also scored seven points.
Eric “Boss” Boone led Bryan Station with 14 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and three steals. David Demarcus added 12 points and five rebounds.
