Lincoln County vs. Boyle County (Girls)

Lincoln County defeated Boyle County 112-110 in overtime in a game that set a new record for total points (222) scored in a girls’ basketball game. Lincoln County trailed by 12 points after three quarters but rallied to tie the game at 91 all and force overtime. Lincoln County trailed with three seconds left in regulation but Maddy Boyle picked off an inbounds pass and was fouled on a shot attempt. Boyle hit both free throws to send the game to overtime. Lincoln County took their first lead of the game early in overtime but Boyle County had a last second three point attempt for the win bounce off the rim.
Lincoln County shot 47.5% from the field including five of 17 from the three point line, connected on 31 of 39 free throws, and pulled down 37 rebounds. Boyle County shot 57.6% from the field including 10 of 18 from beyond the arc, connected on 25 of 37 free throws, and pulled down 36 rebounds.
5-11 So. Emma King led Lincoln County with 31 points, six rebounds, and four assists. 5-10 So. Haley Southerland added 27 points and 10 rebounds. 5-11 So. Kaitlynn Wilks recorded 22 points and six rebounds. 5-4 So. Maddy Boyle added 20 points and six assists.
5-10 Sr. Emmie Harris led Boyle County with 31 points and six rebounds. 5-8 So. McKayla Baker added 26 points and seven rebounds. 5-6 Jr. Danielle Roney recorded 17 points and eight rebounds. 5-10 Jr. Gracie Edmiston chipped in with 15 points and six rebounds. 5-11 Jr. Becca Tarter also reached double figures with 10 points.
