Harrison County vs. Lexington Catholic (Girls)

Harrison County coach Kimberly Furnish started the following lineup: 5-5 So. Madison Kellione, 5-5 Fr. Katelin Ecklar, 6-0 Sr. Emma Darnell, 5-1 8th Grade Kendall Box, and 5-3 8th Grade Elizabeth Allison.  Lexington Catholic coach Scott True countered with 5-7 So. Jay Ballard, 5-7 So. Maylo Given, 5-10 Sr. Laken Pinkerman, 5-2 Jr. Olivia Haines, and 5-5 Jr. Ashley Frebis.  (Laken Pinkerman missed the entire season with an ACL injury but started tonight and was allowed to score a basket.  Harrison County was allowed an uncontested basket which allowed Laken to score a basket her senior season and she was subbed out after 19 seconds of action).

 

Lexington Catholic defeated Harrison County by a score of 50-35.  Lexington Catholic shot 43.9% from the field including eight of 20 from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on six of seven free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored eight points off eight Harrison County turnovers.  Harrison County shot 34.1% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Fillies connected on one of three free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and did not score off eight Lexington Catholic turnovers.

 

Jay Ballard led Lexington Catholic with 18 points including four three point baskets, four rebounds, and five assists.  Olivia Haines added 11 points including two three point baskets.  Ashley Frebis pulled down seven rebounds.

 

Madison Kellione led Harrison County with 14 points including two three point baskets.  Katelin Ecklar added 10 points.

Lexington Catholic (50) – Ballard 18, Given 3, Pinkerman 2, Haines 11, Frebis 0. Witt 4, Weldon 5, Nash 5, Brierly 2.
