Wayne County coach Tim Pyles started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Ashton Bell, 5-7 Sr. Taylor Bell, 5-10 Sr. Megan Burchett, 5-7 8th Grade Macey Blevins, and 5-8 Jr. Hannah Jackson. Lexington Catholic coach Scott True countered with 5-7 So. Jay Ballard, 5-7 So. Maylo Given, 5-9 So. Katie Witt, 5-2 Jr. Olivia Haines, and 5-5 Jr. Ashley Frebis.
Wayne County defeated Lexington Catholic by a score of 55-50. Wayne County shot 42% from the field including five of 14 from the three point line. The Lady Cardinals connected on 14 of 15 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored two points off five Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 41% from the field including seven of 29 from beyond the arc. The Lady Knights connected on five of nine free throws, pulled down 17 rebounds, and scored nine points off 17 Wayne County turnovers.
Ashton Bell led Wayne County with 16 points including 10 of 11 free throws and pulled down nine rebounds. Hannah Jackson added 15 points including three three point baskets and four assists. Taylor Bell recorded 12 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Megan Burchett chipped in with nine points and eight rebounds.
Maylo Given led Lexington Catholic with 14 points including three three point baskets and four rebounds. Jay Ballard added 11 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Ashley Frebis also scored 11 points
