Danville coach Michael Menifee started the following lineup: 5-7 So. Ivy Turner, 5-7 Jr. Kirby Alcorn, 5-8 Sr. Kennedy Walker, 5-4 Sr. Zenoviah Walker, and 5-7 Sr. Alyvia Walker. Wayne County coach Tim Pyles countered with 5-9 Sr. Ashton Bell, 5-7 Sr. Taylor Bell, 5-10 Sr. Megan Burchett, 5-7 8th Grade Macey Blevins, and 5-8 Jr. Hannah Jackson.
Wayne County withstood a fourth quarter rally from Danville to eke out a 49-47 victory. Wayne County shot 40% from the field including two of 16 from the three point line. The Lady Cardinals connected on 13 of 18 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored three points off three Danville turnovers. Danville shot 33% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc. The Lady Admirals connected on seven of 11 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored two points off 10 Wayne County turnovers.
Ashton Bell led Wayne County with 25 points including nine of 12 free throws and pulled down 11 rebounds. Megan Burchett added 10 points including two three point baskets and six rebounds. Taylor Bell recorded nine points and six rebounds.
Zenoviah Walker led Danville with 14 points and four rebounds. Alyvia Walker added 12 points and seven rebounds. Ivy Turner chipped in with 10 points. Kennedy Walker recorded six points and 11 rebounds.
