South Laurel defeated Clay County tonight by a score of 74-58. South Laurel shot 54.2% from the field including 11 of 19 from the three point line. They connected on 11 of 15 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and committed seven turnovers. Clay County shot 51.2% from the field including six of 21 from beyond the arc. The Lady Tigers connected on eight of 10 free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and committed 12 turnovers.
5-6 Fr. Ally Collett led South Laurel with 21 points including four three point baskets. 5-7 Sr. Shelby Davis added 20 points including five three point baskets and six rebounds. 5-7 Fr. Amerah Steele recorded 11 points. 6-1 Sr. Katie Reynolds chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds.
5-9 So. Summer Parker led Clay County with 24 points and six rebounds. 5-9 Fr. Kaylee Mathis added 14 points and six assists. 5-7 So. Shelby Phillips recorded nine points on three three point baskets. 5-4 8th Grade Taylor Asher chipped in with eight points and four assists.
