Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale started the following lineup: 6-7 Jr. Zach Charles, 6-6 Fr. Marlon Adams, 6-9 So. Nick Mayo, 5-11 Fr. Asante Gist, and 6-2 Sr. Isaac McGlone. Belmont coach Rick Byrd countered with 6-7 Sr. Evan Bradds, 6-7 So. Dylan Windler, 6-8 Jr. Egekeze Amanze, 6-3 Jr. Austin Luke, and 6-3 Sr. Taylor Barnette.
Eastern Kentucky University led 38-37 at halftime but Belmont rallied to earn a 76-72 victory. The score was tied four times and there were seven lead changes in the game. Belmont shot 50% from the field including two of 14 from the three point line. They connected on 28 of 37 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 10 Eastern Kentucky turnovers. Eastern Kentucky University shot 41.4% from the field including eight of 21 from beyond the arc. The Colonels connected on 16 of 19 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 10 Belmont turnovers.
Evan Bradds led Belmont with 25 points and 12 rebounds. Dylan Windler added 23 points including 10 of 11 free throws, four rebounds, two blocked shots, and two steals. Amanze Egekeze recorded 10 points, four rebounds, and two blocked shots. Austin Luke chipped in with eight points and five assists.
Asante Gist led Eastern Kentucky with 28 points including four three point baskets. Nick Mayo added 25 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. Zach Charles recorded eight points and 10 rebounds. Isaac McGlone chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets.
