Tates Creek coach Michael Allen started the following lineup: 6-1 Sr. Anthony Hardin, 6-0 So. Isaiah Allen, 6-4 Sr. Isaiah Patterson, 5-10 Fr. Amari Taylor, and 5-10 Jr. Darryl Bell. Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III countered with 5-10 Sr. Jajuante Carpenter, 5-10 Jr. Eric Powell, 6-1 Sr. Cameron Greenup, 5-9 Sr. Chris Wharton, and 5-10 So. Evan Dreux.
Lafayette pulled away in the second half to defeat Tates Creek by a score of 58-39. Lafayette shot 40.5% from the field including 10 of 23 from the three point line. The Generals connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored six points off 13 Tates Creek turnovers. Tates Creek shot 33.3% from the field including two of 12 from beyond the arc. The Commodores connected on 17 of 24 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 11 Lafayette turnovers.
Evan Dreux led Lafayette with 11 points including two three point baskets. Jajuante Carpenter added 10 points including three three point baskets. Eric Powell chipped in with nine points. 6-1 Jr. Devontae Hayes recorded eight points and five rebounds. Chris Wharton also scored eight points.
Isaiah Patterson led Tates Creek with 14 points. Isaiah Allen added 12 points including 10 of 14 free throws. Anthony Hardin recorded nine points including two three point baskets.
