Butler coach Larry Just started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Jaelynn Penn, 5-8 Sr. Fontasia Jeffries, 6-3 Jr. Molly Lockhart, 5-4 Sr. Breia Torrens, and 5-6 Sr. Teri Goodlett. Bullitt East coach Chris Stallings countered with 5-10 Sr. Lindsey Duvall, 5-8 Jr. Kathleen Scott, 5-9 Sr. Kirstie Henn, 5-5 Sr. Lauren Masden, and 5-6 Sr. Alyssa Peak.
Butler raced out to an 18-3 lead in the first quarter led but Bullitt East rallied to trail by only two points; 31-29 after three quarters but Butler extended their advantage to earn a 50-42 victory. Butler shot 39.5% from the field including four of 12 from the three point line. The Bearettes connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored nine points off 12 Bullitt East turnovers. Bullitt East shot 29.5% from the field including six of 22 from beyond the arc. The Lady Chargers connected on 10 of 18 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 17 Butler turnovers.
Molly Lockhart led Butler with 13 points and nine rebounds. Teri Goodlett also scored 13 points, five rebounds, and three assists. Breia Torrens and Fontasia Jeffries chipped in with eight and seven points respectively. Jaelynn Penn recorded six points, eight rebounds, and three assists.
5-4 So. Emmy Ralph led Bullitt East with 11 points including three three point baskets. Lindsey Duvall added nine points, five rebounds, and four steals. Lauren Masden and Kirstie Henn each scored eight points. Alyssa Peak pulled down seven rebounds.
