Anderson County trailed 7-0 but scored 27 unanswered points on their way to a 27-14 victory over George Rogers Clark. Anderson County’s offense sputtered at times tonight bu they scored on an 88 yard kickoff return and on a 51 yard interception return to take control of the game. George Rogers Clark lost fou turnovers tonight. Anderson County recorded five first downs and 122 yards of total offense. The Bearcats were penalized six times for 63 yards and lost a fumble. George Rogers Clark recorded 13 first downs and 215 yards of total offense. The Cardinals were penalized six times for 40 yards, lost a fumble, and had three passes intercepted.
Zach Labhart led Anderson County’s ground game with 56 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. Blake Franklin carried the ball 11 times for 41 yards. Tyler Peters completed one of two yards for 1 yard. Matt Stamper caught one pass for 1 yard. Blake Franklin returned one kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown. RJ Boies led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles with four of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 15 yards and recorded a safety. Kynan Russell added three solo and seven assisted tackles and recovered a fumble. Tyler Peters recorded five solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a 29 yard loss and intercepted a pass he returned for 56 yards. Blake Franklin intercepted two passes; one he returned 51 yards for a touchdown.
Ethan Thomas led George Rogers Clark’s ground game with 95 yards on 22 carries. Pierce Nesbitt carried the ball four times for 30 yards and a touchdown. Pierce Nesbitt completed seven of 15 passes for 44 yards with two interceptions. Isaac Graham completed one of two passes for 52 yards with one interception. Will Henry completed one of two passes for 11 yards and a touchdown. Jaden Farris caught two passes for 12 yards. Ethan Thomas caught one pass for 52 yards. Blake Jernigan caught an 11 yard touchdown pass. Trevon Jones returned three kickoffs for 52 yards and two punt returns for 27 yards. Mason Blair led the defense with five solo and six assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 11 yards. Jehdon Jenkins added four solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards and recovered a fumble. Trevon Jones recorded four solo and one assisted tackles.
