Covington Catholic defeated Campbell County 49-13 to finish the regular season at 10-0 and is poised for a deep playoff run. Covington Catholic recorded 18 first downs and 336 yards of total offense. The Colonels were penalized eight times for 66 yards and had a pass intercepted. Campbell County recorded 12 first downs and 209 yards of total offense. The Camels were penalized twice for 10 yards and lost two fumbles.
C. McGinness led Covington Catholic’s ground game with 77 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries. L. Summe added 46 yards on four carries. G. Dyer recorded 33 yards on three carries. T. Reusch carried the ball five times for 26 yards and a touchdown. AJ Mayer completed seven of 14 passes for 103 yards and two touchdowns with an interception. M. Pike caught four passes for 54 yards and a touchdown. J. Coldiron added two receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown. G. Dyer kicked off five times with four touch backs. J. Shriver led the defense with two solo and five assisted tackles. M. Mayer added one solo and five assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss and recovered a fumble. L. Summe also recovered a fumble.
A. Dowds led Campbell County’s ground game with 126 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries. A. Hoeh completed eight of 22 passes for 68 yards. N. Mayer caught four passes for 21 yards. Brady Singleton added two receptions for 40 yards. P. Anderson led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles. Brady Singleton added six solo tackles. D. Zimpleman recorded four solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in an 11 yard loss.
