Newport Central Catholic coach Ken Collopy started the following lineup: (probable) 6-1 Sr. Brennan Hall, 5-11 So. Paul Kremer, 6-1 Sr. Jalen McDaniel, 5-10 Sr. Stephen Pangallo, and 5-10 So. Caleb Jefferson.  Covington Catholic coach Scott Ruthsatz countered with 6-8 Jr. Nick Thelen, 6-5 Jr. Jack Davin, 7-1 Sr. Jake Walter, 5-10 Sr. Aiden Ruthsatz, and 6-4 Sr. CJ Frederick.

Covington Catholic shot a sizzling 68.8% from the field and 88.2% from the free throw line in an 89-50 victory over Newport Central Catholic.  Covington Catholic shot 68.8% from the field including eight of 14 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 15 of 17 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and committed 13 turnovers.  Newport Central Catholic shot 40.4% from the field including seven of 19 from beyond the arc.  They connected on five of seven free throws, pulled down 14 rebounds, and committed 12 turnovers.

CJ Frederick led Covington Catholic with 35 points including two three point baskets, nine of nine free throws, five rebounds, and four assists.  Frederick was 12 of 15 from the field including two of four from beyond the arc.  Aiden Ruthsatz added 16 points including four three point baskets, three rebounds, and five assists.  Jake Walter recorded 13 points and five rebounds.

Brennan Hall led Newport Central Catholic with 24 points including three three point baskets and two steals.  Jalen McDaniel added six points on two three point baskets.  Caleb Jefferson also scored six points.
