Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts started the following lineup: 5-11 Jr. Abby Wright, 5-11 Fr. Bria Bass, 6-2 Jr. Madison Pierce, 5-8 Jr. A’Queen Hayes, and 5-8 So. Shay Solomon.  George Mason coach Nyla Milleson countered with 6-0 So. Jacy Bolton, 5-11 Sr. Tayler Dodson, 6-5 GS Natalie Butler, 5-7 Fr. Nicole Cardano-Hillary, and 5-9 So. Sarah Kaminski.

 

Eastern Kentucky led 25-23 at halftime but George Mason exploded in the second half to outscore Eastern Kentucky 41-16 in the second half to earn a 64-41 victory.  George Mason shot 49.1% from the field including seven of 16 from the three point line.  They connected on five of six free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 17 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 28.1% from the field including two of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on three of seven free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 19 George Mason turnovers.

 

Nicole Cardano-Hillary led George Mason with 18 points including four three point baskets.  Natalie Butler added 13 points and 12 rebounds.  Jacy Bolton recorded 11 points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots.

 

Madison Pierce led Eastern Kentucky with 12 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and four steals.  Abby Wright added 11 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.  Shay Solomon recorded eight points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  A’Queen Hayes recorded eight rebounds, two assists, and three steals.
