Scott County coach Steve Helton started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Peyton Riddle, 5-10 Jr. Maaliya Owens, 5-10 Sr. Zakiyia Holt, 5-5 Jr. Juliette Smith, and 5-5 So. Morgan DeFoor. Henry Clay coach Eric Sanford countered with 5-8 Jr. Christian Gatewood, 5-8 Sr. Braxton Price, 5-8 Sr. Cheyenne Jones, 5-4 Sr. Alexis Lutz, and 5-7 Jr. Kiya Thompson.
Scott County, buoyed by a sizzling 64.9% from the field, raced out to a 67-38 halftime lead on their way to a 90 – 50 victory over Henry Clay. Scott County shot 60.7% from the field including 14 of 27 from the three point line. The Lady Cardinals connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored nine points off 10 Henry Clay turnovers. Henry Clay shot 36.4% from the field including one of eight from beyond the arc. The Lady Blue Devils connected on 17 of 27 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 16 points off eight Scott County turnovers.
Morgan DeFoor led Scott County with 27 points including five three point baskets and three assists. Maaliya Owens added 22 points including four three point baskets and six rebounds. Peyton Riddle recorded 14 points, six rebounds, and seven assists. 5-1 Fr. Braylee McMath chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets.
Kiya Thompson led Henry Clay with 16 points and five rebounds. Cheyenne Jones added 13 points and eight rebounds. Braxton Price recorded nine points including seven of seven free throws and five assists.
