Belmont University coach Bart Brooks started the following lineup: 5-11 Sr. Kylee Smith, 5-11 Jr. Jenny Roy, 6-3 Sr. Sally McCabe, 5-5 Jr. Darby Maggard, and 5-9 Sr. Sierra Jones.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts countered with 6-0 So. Tae’lour Richardson, 5-11 Jr. Abby Wright, 5-8 So. Shay Solomon, 5-8 Jr. Kenyia Johnson, and 5-8 Jr. A’Queen Hayes.

Belmont University led 51-44 after three quarters but pulled away in the final quarter to defeat Eastern Kentucky by a score of 77-55.  Belmont University shot 49.1% from the field including five of 16 from the three point line.  The Bruins connected on 18 of 21 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored six points off five Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 30.6% from the field including four of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored eight points off 11 Belmont turnovers.

Darby Maggard led a balanced Belmont scoring attack with 14 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and four assists.  Sally McCabe added 13 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, and two blocked shots.  Sierra Jones recorded 11 points and four rebounds.  Jenny Roy chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds.  Kylee Smith added 10 points, five rebounds, and three assists.  6-1 So. Maddie Wright pulled down eight rebounds.

A’Queen Hayes led Eastern Kentucky with 17 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and three steals.  Abby Wright added 13 points including two three point baskets.  5-11 Fr. Bria Bass recorded nine points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.  Shay Solomon chipped in with eight points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
