Tennessee State University coach Jessica Kern started the following lineup: 5-10 Fr. Jaden Wrightsell, 5-9 Jr. Asia Sims, 6-0 Jr. Tia Wooten, 5-6 So. Kaliya Griffin, and 5-7 Sr. Maxine Beard.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts countered with 5-11 Jr. Abby Wright, 5-11 Fr. Bria Bass, 6-0 So. Tae’lour Richardson, 5-8 So. Shay Solomon, and 5-8 Jr. A’Queen Hayes.

Tennessee State University trailed 42-36 after three quarters but rallied and earned a 59-58 victory over Eastern Kentucky University on two free throws by Taylor Roberts in the closing seconds.  There were 13 ties and 14 lead changes in the game.  Tennessee State shot 32.7% from the field including three of 11 from the three point line.  The Tigers connected on 22 of 29 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 19 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 36.5% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 15 Tennessee State turnovers.

5-11 Fr. Taylor Roberts led Tennessee State with 19 points and six rebounds.  Tia Wooten added 14 points and five rebounds.  Jaden Wrightsell recorded six points and 10 rebounds. 

A’Queen Hayes led Eastern Kentucky with 18 points and 14 rebounds.  Abby Wright added 12 points and five rebounds.  5-8 Jr. Kenyia Johnson recorded eight points, five rebounds, and four assists.  Shay Solomon added seven points, eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
