Trinity coach Mike Szabo started the following lineup: 6-3 Jr. Jamil Hardaway, 6-4 Jr. Stan Turnier, 6-5 Jr. David Johnson, 6-5 Sr. Jay Scrubb, and 6-5 So. Justin Powell.  Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III countered with 6-3 Sr. Eric Powell, 6-1 Sr. Cameron King. 6-9 So. Ray Suratt, 5-10 Jr. Evan Dreux, and 5-11 Sr. Fousseyni Diallo.

 

Trinity was clicking on all cylinders tonight as they defeated Lafayette by a score of 75-50.  Trinity shot 56.9% from the field including 12 of 26 from the three point line.  The Shamrocks connected on five of 10 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 13 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 40.4% from the field including nine of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Generals connected on three of eight free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored seven points off 10 Trinity turnovers.

 

Jay Scrubb led a balanced Trinity scoring attack with 18 points including four three point baskets and seven rebounds.  Justin Powell added 14 points including two three point baskets, seven rebounds, and three assists.  David Johnson recorded 12 points, five rebounds, five assists, and two blocked shots.  Stan Turnier chipped in with 11 points including three three point baskets and four rebounds.  Jamil Hardaway also scored 11 points.

 

Eric Powell led Lafayette with 10 points including three three point baskets and three rebounds.  6-1 Sr. Devontae Hayes added eight points and three rebounds.  Cameron King chipped in with seven points and three steals.  Evan Dreux dished out nine assists.
