Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir started the following lineup: 5-11 Sr. Grace Berger, 5-7 Sr. Kia Sivils, 6-0 So. Kristen Clemons, 5-6 Jr. Ashlee Harris, and 5-7 Sr. Kiki Samsel. Mercy Academy coach Keith Baisch countered with 6-1 So. Taziah Jenks, 5-9 Jr. Raquael Reese, 6-3 Sr. Danielle Feldkamp, 5-5 So. Hope Sivori, and 5-9 Jr. Regan Berger.
Sacred Heart Academy defeated Mercy Academy 71-68 in overtime. Sacred Heart controlled the boards and held a 26-9 advantage in second chance points. The score was tied six times and there were eight lead changes in the game. Sacred Heart shot 34.8% from the field including seven of 27 from the three point line. The Valkyries connected on 16 of 29 free throws, pulled down 50 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 12 Mercy Academy turnovers. Mercy Academy shot 40.4% from the field including three of seven from beyond the arc. The Jaguars connected on 19 of 26 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored eight points off eight Sacred Heart turnovers.
Grace Berger led Sacred Heart Academy with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Ashlee Harris added 15 points including three three point baskets and eight rebounds. Kristen Clemons recorded nine points, 12 rebounds, and four blocked shots. Kiki Samsel also scored nine points on three three point baskets.
Regan Berger led Mercy Academy with 17 points including nine of 13 free throws. Danielle Feldkamp added 11 points and three rebounds. Raquael Reese recorded 10 points and eight rebounds. Taziah Jenks chipped in with 10 points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots. 5-3 Jr. Sydney Rivette also scored 10 points. Hope Sivori recorded six points, six rebounds, and six assists.
