It didn’t take Montgomery County transfer Charles Collins long to make an impact for Anderson County as he ran for a touchdown and caught two touchdown passes to lead Anderson County to a 41-0 victory over George Rogers Clark tonight. Anderson County recorded 10 first downs and 285 yards of total offense. The Bearcats were penalized 10 times for 88 yards and lost two fumbles. George Rogers Clark recorded 15 first downs and 200 yards of total offense. The Cardinals were penalized eight times for 66 yards, lost four fumbles and had a pass intercepted.
Zach Labhart led Anderson County’s ground game with 105 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries. Charles Collins carried the ball seven times for 103 yards and a touchdown. Jagger Gillis completed two of seven passes for 71 yards and two touchdowns. Charles Collins caught two passes for 71 yards and two touchdowns. Colton Cornish led the defense and put up huge numbers with 10 solo and six assisted tackles. Kynan Russell added five solo and one assisted tackles. Zach Labhart recorded three solo and two assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 27 yards. Aaron Chilton scored on a 36 yard fumble recovery. B. Aldridge, Brendan Klink, and B. Richardson also recovered fumbles and W. Ruehrwein intercepted a pass.
Nitavius Thomas led George Rogers Clark’s ground game with 60 yards on 19 carries. Azariah Isreal carried the ball 10 times for 32 yards. Will Henry completed four of 12 passes for 67 yards with one interception. Hagan Harrison completed three of six passes for 50 yards. Isaiah Noland and Farris Shakadih each caught two passes for 36 and 30 yards respectively. Samuel Johnson caught one pass for 27 yards and Nitavius Thomas added one reception for 18 yards. Azariah Israel returned two kickoffs for 61 yards with a long return of 31 yards. Jehdon Jenkins led the defense with three solo and one assisted tackles. Jacob Smith added three solo and one assisted tackles. Aquavion Lewis recorded three solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in an 11 yard loss. Jaylynn Johnson and Devin Richards each recovered a fumble.
