Scott County vs. Highlands

Scott County led 28-7 and was starting to dominate play late in the second quarter when lightning suspended play. Weather conditions continued to worsen and both teams agreed to not end the game and due to prior commitments agreed the game would result in a victory for Scott County. Scott County recorded 17 first downs and 249 yards of total offense. The Cardinals were penalized once for five yards. Highlands did not record a first down and was limited to 22 yards on nine offensive plays. The Bluebirds were penalized three times for 25 yards.
Austin Barnett led Scott County’s ground game with 121 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries. Bronson Brown carried the ball eight times for 67 yards and a touchdown. Payton Brown carried the ball six times for 33 yards and two touchdowns. Cade McKee completed two of three passes for 23 yards. Glenn Covington caught two passes for 23 yards. Sam Daniel led the defense with three solo tackles
C. Schwalbach led Highlands’ ground game with five yards on three carries. Grady Cramer completed two of six passes for 17 yards. Joey Deschler caught one pass for 14 yards. B. Huddleston returned two kickoffs for 89 yards with a touchdown return of 82 yards. Jacob Brass led the defense with six solo and three assisted tackles. B. Huddleston added six solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards.
